“Story of First Aid” is Nutnfancy

By admin, 1 August, 2010, 25 Comments

Sometimes it can be in front of people who are seriously injured or threatened imminent death. And sometimes the help is far away from these victims. You can look around for rescue personnel, ambulance, telephone, or someone else to carry out rescue and find nothing. You’ll face a choice: do nothing or to win their disbelief and shock, emergency, roll up your sleeves and go to save lives. And is mentally prepared: it may involve you dealing with you quite a bit to make carnage of this assistance. This is just such a thing. I was one of the few rescuers is a serious car accident decapitated woman was seriously injured and several family members. This incident helped me to formulate my views of medical preparedness and opened my eyes, just how can one help. As the shepherd dog can be a lonely vocation.

The Utah Mountains are a death trap. You can’t go a week without hearing about some kind of freak accident. The winter, especially, is really bad.

Understand: Like Nutnfancy said, in an emergency situation you will most likely see blood, severe trauma to a person’s body, deformities to the extremities, and possibly in more grave circumstances death. Especially when kids are involved, it can be very hard to deal with some of these sights. Someone may die while you are attempting to render emergency care. Take heart in the fact that YOU were the one that had the courage to act and did all you could to help, no matter the outcome.

this story reminds me of a scene in the mini-series band of brothers. The man is shot in the throat under enemy fire, still living, his buddies had to retreat. the fact that that was a true story was sobering to me, and so is this. just cause u have comrades or friends or just people with u, doesnt mean they’ll help u

Good video, sad story but I couldn’t help laugh at some parts like 12:26 – 12:27 and 15:15 – 15:16.

Like some guy asked, how did you treat the boy with the embedded rocks?

  • OutdoorAdventurer12

Awesome video not like I would expect anything less from you though. But I had a question at around 5:30 what brand/model of gloves are those you are wearing?

  • gnomehater63

holy crap. that is so sad. and gruesome. and sad!

  • Jollyprez

Makes you respect the Boy Scouts, who emphasize first aid and emergency preparedness from day one.

    @xander6100 yes

  • xander6100

@halla369 that is a great idea, should be adopted by all countries in my opinion.

how can someone stand by and not help? in Norway we must by law carry a first aid kit in our cars and we must by law help if there are a accident whit injuries. also everybody who takes their drivers license on a car, moped or whatever you must take a fairly long first aid class

  • MadtactiX

@oOBunnyackOo I learned from Crocodile Dundee about giving out cigarette’s or a light. I’m always suspecting…

Great story to hear about and help people prepare. I could relate to that little boy with the head injury. Cracked my head when I was younger, you could see my skull. My mom was in minor shock from just seeing it so our neighbor (a nurse) drove us to the hospital. You remind me a lot of what my father was like, always willing to help strangers no matter what.

  • YouTode

Hey nutnfancy, you mentioned you were ill-equipped: what did you do to stop the bleeding on the boy’s head? Remove the rocks, apply a pad and pressure?

  • oOBunnyackOo

@nutnfancy a completely intoxicated lunatic, yeah. prohibition had some good sides to it, I guess…

  • nutnfancy

@oOBunnyackOo Good lord, Bunny, please be careful. He sounds like a complete lunatic! — Vero

“don’t expect people to help you” – absolutely. just yesterday night I had a totally drunk russian guy walk up to me. he asked me for a cigarette and when I gave him one, he started insulting me in russian and then hit me in the face. 4-5 people standing around me and just gaping. I went for his legs, wrestled him down. as I was getting away I saw him following me, so drunk he could hardly run, a knife in his hand. I probably would have died if he would have pulled the knife a little earlier.

outstanding and inspirational – from a sheepdog in the making on the other side of the planet… thank nutnfancy, your strength speaks through your humility

  • tackywacky99

this is an inspiration because ive always followed a reasoning where if someone was hurt and no one was helping them and i was not busy or doing anything I would go help because, i can’t imagine myself in that situation.
